About Me.
My name is Koayla Cormack. From childhood, I have known that I wanted to create stories that honour my Creator, offer hope and comfort to a troubled world, and bring excitement and entertainment to young and old adventurers. As an adult, I have pursued that passion into theatre school, as well as in my own time with writing. I also have the spirit of an explorer, and try to capture my own adventures in my photography.
Education and Work Experience
2019-2024
Rosebud School of the Arts (RSA)
A 4 year program with a Certificate in Theatre Foundations for the 1st year, a Diploma in Theatre Arts for 2nd year, and soon to be FRSA guild member. I focused on acting and singing while also taking classes in violin, writing, directing, and producing.
2018-2024
Canadian Badlands Passion Play
An outdoor annual production of the Passion of Christ, this semi-professional show draws crowds from around the world. I have performed with them 5 seasons as a villager, temple guard, angel, dancer, and various characters, and have gained skills in vocal projection and acting on a large amphitheatre stage.
2007-2015
The Arts Abbey
Ballet classes, as high as a level 5. I have since then dabbled in a variety of other dance forms.
Winter 2019
Photography/videography with Kelsey & Aaron Krogman
As part of my 1st year training at RSA, I took a basic class in photography and videography, learning principles such as the rule of 3rds, and effective ways to capture animals in video to tell story.
